Prevention of dental caries is a complex activity. Proper implementation depends on the establishment of preventive habits, and the responsibility for it is divided equally between the patient and the dentist. It is estimated that the cost of preventive measures is one-tenth of the cost of a possible cure. We should not disregard the fact that every treatment one way or another is invasive in terms of biological structures, with the result that they never recover 100%. For prevention of dental caries we can point out the following factors:

1) regular and proper cleaning of the teeth;

2) use of mouthwashes to reduce bacterial flora;

3) fluorine and nutritional prevention;

4) applying dental sealants on deep pits and fissures;

5) regular screening and treatment of small caries;
